Brian Long
President
Brian began his career at Compass Rose Events as an Event Manager and quickly advanced to Senior Project Manager. In 2014, he stepped into the role of Vice President of Operations, becoming a co-owner while overseeing the company’s nationwide operational delivery. After two successful years leading Operations, Brian took over as President and, with his business partner, Scott Larson, transitioned Compass Rose Events to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), where he continues to guide the company’s strategic direction.
With more than 23 years of experience in the event industry and a deep understanding of Compass Rose Events from the ground up, Brian brings a unique combination of hands-on knowledge and executive leadership. He helped successfully navigate the organization through the pandemic and is proud to be striving today with a team of experienced professionals. He is known for challenging systems, refining processes, and continually pushing the organization to innovate and maintain its position as an industry leader. His success is rooted in meticulous planning, disciplined execution, and an unwavering commitment to a customer-focused approach.
A former football standout at the University of Missouri and Missouri State University, Brian grew up in the Kansas City area and now resides in Florida. He and his wife, Danielle, of 23 years, have three daughters—Lily (Sophomore Architecture Student at K-State), Savannah (“Savvi”), and Paisley (“PJ”). When he’s not watching Savvi kick on the football team or playing middle linebacker on her school’s flag football team, or attending PJ’s soccer and volleyball competitions, Brian enjoys cheering on the Chiefs. With what time he has away from work, he loves offshore fishing, the sandbar, rafting, and a good campfire while camping with friends and family.
