We look for outgoing, energetic team-players, ideally with sales, leadership, hospitality and/or food service skills. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, a licensed driver and willing to drive 24’ delivery trucks. They will interact with our corporate customers and supervise a staff of 20-100+. Each week they’ll travel to a new location to oversee employee and/or family style events with an average of 1000+ attendees.

    Event Manager responsibilities include event set up and take down, client interaction, event staff management, quality control, problem solving and on-site vendor coordination. Event Managers handle all entertainment and logistical aspects of the event site and are face-to-face with the customer on delivery day. They continue Compass Rose Events’ high standards of customer service, professionalism and safety.

    Event Chefs oversee all catering and buffet style food service on the event site and assist as needed with entertainment and logistical aspects of the event. An Event Chef’s responsibilities include on-site food preparation, event staff management, safety and sanitation control, food inventory and distribution, problem solving and on-site vendor coordination. Kitchen or catering experience is highly desirable. Compass Rose Events requires Event Chefs to become ServSafe® certified during training.

    Compass Rose Events offers a paid Sales Training & Event Planning Program that exposes entry level staff to all aspects of our business. During this 18 month program, you will progress through multiple phases of the sales and operations process spending a few months developing your skills in each area.

    Phase 1 – Event Management. Learn the basics of successful event design and enhance your customer service skills. Oversee the setup, operation and take down of large corporate parties. Event Managers handle all entertainment, culinary and logistical aspects of the event site.  Leadership and management skills will be honed weekly through interaction with clients, co-workers and staffing groups.
    Phase 2 – Business Development. Learn the basics of business to business prospecting by introducing our services and setting appointments for Project Managers. This position also involves database management, lead addition and appointment generation.
    Phase 3 – Project Associate. Improve your event and sales skills by working closely with our Project Managers on developing sales presentations, assisting with cost planning, conducting site research and creating site layouts.  You will assist with proposal generation, further develop client relationships and facilitate communication. 
    Phase 4 – Project Manager or Operations Trainee. All STEPP participants will train in both Project and Operations Management.  individual tracks will be determined at the end of these trainings.   Track decisions will be based on evaluations, participants’ interests and company needs.  A final case study will be completed for either track chosen.  Project Manager Trainee – Expand your skills in Inside Sales and Project Associate.  Shadow Project Managers on sales calls.  Gain skills in negotiation, selling strategies, event design and territory management. Operations Trainee – Gain skills in Event Procurement.  Further develop skills in Event Management – leading larger, more complicated events.  Assist the Staffing Coordinator, Event Manager Coordinator and Warehouse Manager.  Participate in the Event Review Process.

    Business Development Representatives serve as the initial point of contact in our sales process with business to business prospecting, lead qualification and appointment generation. Compass Rose Events relies on a team of motivated individuals who are skilled problem solvers with “can do” attitudes. Previous event industry and sales experience are helpful. Excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills are required.
    Outside Sales/Project Managers establish partnerships with clients and prepare event proposals by incorporating time tested event principles, client preferences and relevant budget considerations. Project Managers serve as an available resource for clients seeking advice, program adjustments and annual improvements. They facilitate seamless communication of client expectations. Project Managers actively engage in prospecting and marketing the Compass Rose Events brand. Significant travel is required.
    Our operations department hires for event coordination and purchasing, staffing coordination, warehouse management and labor. Our administration department hires for accounting, bookkeeping, contract administration, human resources, recruiting, marketing and executive assistants.
