Compass Rose Events provides opportunities for groups to make their next fundraising event a smashing success. We are always seeking groups interested in raising money for their organization by partnering with us to staff events in your area. If your group is interested in signing up to staff an event with Compass Rose Events, please send an inquiry to our event staffing team.

What to Expect

Event setup:
This consists of unloading the trucks and setting up the event equipment under the supervision of the on-site Event Managers. Most events are set up in the afternoon the day before the event. Some smaller events are set up the same day prior to the event starting.

Day of the event:
About two hours before the event begins, the Event Managers will meet with the volunteer group to assign people where they are needed, such as in food, game booths, children's activities, concession areas, etc. Events typically last four to six hours and the volunteers will be provided with a T-shirt, a meal and drinks. We will also need the volunteer group to help with the take down and cleanup of equipment, which usually takes about two hours after the event ends.

What to wear:
We recommend dressing in comfortable clothing appropriate for physical activity and closed toe athletic shoes (hiking boots or tennis shoes are recommended). Please be advised that there will not be an area designated for storage of personal items on the event site. Anything of value should be kept with you at all times.

Staffing requirements:
Unfortunately, we can not accept volunteers under 15 years of age and they must be at least 19 to work in the grill area. It is strictly prohibited to consume alcohol or use tobacco products. We expect volunteer groups to arrive on time and in full number, and that no one will leave the event site until all duties have been fulfilled. We also expect ample adult supervision within the group (at least 25% adults) and that all volunteers will present themselves in a friendly and professional manner.

Donation and benefit:
In exchange for the help of the volunteer group, a donation will be made to their organization. The amount will vary depending upon the requirements for the particular event (i.e. event size, duration, and number of activities), but averages about $2,000. The event staffing experience promotes “team work” among the group volunteers and is a quick money maker for the volunteer group (“sure beats selling or washing things” as one of the staffing group leaders said).
